The Centre for Micro-Analysis of Materials (CMAM) is a research center belonging to the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) whose main experimental tool is an electrostatic ion accelerator with a maximum terminal voltage of 5 MV, devoted to the analysis and modification of materials. It was officially inaugurated on March the 24th, 2003.
The accelerator, built by HVEE, is of the tandem type and the acceleration system is of the Cockroft-Walton type. It is provided with two sources: a plasma source for gaseous substances and a sputtering source for obtaining practically any element of the periodic table from a solid target.
The address is: Faraday street, 3, UAM (Cantoblanco), 28049- Madrid
